Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information FindMeAJob collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built this service to help people find jobs — not to monetize your data.

1. Who We Are

FindMeAJob (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a job matching service that monitors job listings across thousands of sources, scores them against your profile, and delivers personalized application strategy directly to your inbox. We operate at findmeajob.co and can be reached at support@findmeajob.co.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to deliver a personalized job search service:

  • Account information: Your name, email address, and password (hashed) when you create an account.
  • Job preferences: Target job title, experience level, preferred locations, work style (remote/hybrid/on-site), employment type, salary range, tools and technical skills, certifications, visa sponsorship needs, and security clearance status.
  • Resume summary: A plain-text narrative you provide describing your professional background. We use this to generate personalized insights. We do not store uploaded resume files.
  • Usage data: Pages visited, emails opened, links clicked, and feature interactions — used to improve match quality and email deliverability.
  • Payment information: Subscription billing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or full payment details on our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively to operate and improve the service:

  • Job matching: We score live job listings against your profile and rank them by fit.
  • AI-generated insights: Your resume summary and job preferences are sent to OpenAI (GPT-4o) to generate personalized coaching notes, cover letter guidance, and interview prep for each matched job.
  • Company research: Job and company details are sent to Perplexity AI to generate real-time company intelligence relevant to your application.
  • Email delivery: Your email address and matched job digest are sent to Resend to deliver your personalized job alerts.
  • Service communications: We send transactional emails about your account, subscription, and service updates. You cannot opt out of these while your account is active.
  • Product improvement: Aggregate, anonymized data helps us improve match algorithms, email content quality, and overall reliability.

4. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third-party providers to deliver the service. Each is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements:

  • Supabase — Database and authentication infrastructure. User data is stored in Supabase's hosted PostgreSQL environment.
  • OpenAI — Generates personalized insights using your resume summary and job details. Data is sent per-request and not used to train OpenAI models under our enterprise agreement.
  • Perplexity AI — Generates real-time company intelligence. Job and company details are sent per-request.
  • Resend — Email delivery infrastructure. Your email address and digest content are transmitted for delivery.
  • Stripe — Payment processing and subscription management. Stripe stores your billing details in compliance with PCI-DSS.
  • Brandfetch — Fetches company logos for display in emails and the web app. Only the company domain is transmitted; no personal data is shared.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription and request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution.

De-identified, aggregated usage data (e.g., match rate statistics) may be retained indefinitely to improve the service.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security practices including encrypted data at rest and in transit (TLS), hashed passwords, access controls limited to authorized personnel, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

7. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access and correction: You can view and update your profile preferences in your account dashboard at any time.
  • Email frequency: You can pause or adjust your email delivery frequency in your account settings.
  • Account deletion: You can request complete deletion of your account and personal data by emailing support@findmeajob.co. We will process your request within 30 days.
  • Data portability: You may request a copy of your personal data in a machine-readable format by contacting us.
  • California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of any sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
  • EEA/UK residents (GDPR): You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Our legal basis for processing is contract performance (delivering the service you subscribed to) and legitimate interests (service improvement). Contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and measure service performance. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or behavioral tracking networks. You can control cookie behavior through your browser settings, though disabling cookies may affect service functionality.

9. Children's Privacy

FindMeAJob is not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will promptly delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice in the app before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
